(Malus domestica)
Novadawn is a cross between Paulared and Novamac made by Dr. A. D. Crowe at the AAFC-AFHRC in Kentville, then named and certified by Dr. C.G. Embree in 2010. Not overly sweet, this medium-to-large sized apple features a yellow-green colour and firm texture and stores for approximately three weeks.
Although not tested for other uses, it’s a great eating apple. Dr. Embree believes that it holds commercial potential for organic production because it grows vigorously and is scab resistant so it’s quite pretty. It is ready for harvest in September.
