Released in 2000, the AC Harojoy is commonly grown in Southern Ontario and is ready for harvest in early-to-mid season.
Bred at the Greenhouse and Processing Crops Research Centre in Harrow, Ontario, the AC Harojoy apricot is one of 13 apricot cultivars that Dr. Richard Layne developed between 1974 and 2003.
This beautiful yet hardy and disease-resistant variety is able to withstand cold temperatures and is suitable for eating fresh, shipping commercially, and for home processing, either canning or freezing. They make terrific jam.
