
In 2004, participants began using the moniker, Canada Day 2 to describe what was previously the World’s Longest BBQ. It became clear that an increasing number of people were not just firing up their grills to barbecue beef, they were cooking every yummy local ingredient they could find. 2004 was a resounding success from Vancouver to St. John’s. Meanwhile chefs became involved and some notable restaurants got involved by firing up their grills and ovens.
