Chef Roary MacPherson is BACK!
He’s known by many as “Mr. Newfoundland Food” and has worked tirelessly promoting and perfecting the cuisine. Chef Roary MacPherson is touted as one of Canada’s top chefs, his latest career milestone starts as he becomes executive chef at The Cannery Kitchen & Social. MacPherson is a familiar face in the St. John’s restaurant scene – as the executive chef at Hotel Newfoundland (The Sheraton) for 13 years – his career has taken him in many directions. MacPherson has worked at The Wilds in Salmonier and at the Tiffany Village and Kenny’s Pond partnership. He’s worked as a corporate chef for Sysco. He has also been featured on two Food Network cooking shows: Chopped Canada and Firemasters.
For the 20th Anniversary of Food Day Canada, the menu from Chef MacPherson speaks to the homespun reality of the food life in this province and it’s the heritage. Fluffy Mini bread rolls, kosher salt and molasses butter. Merasheen Bay Oyster, mignonette sauce. Organic Farm greens and herb salad , whipped beet purée and feta cheese. Followed by Haricot farms beef Bourguigonne, maple Roasted root vegetables, roasted garlic potato purée. All to finish with Newfoundland herb scone and berry shortcake. Delicious!
